Civil Disobedience Saves Society

As I'm sure the famed writer, Henry Thoreau, would agree blindly supporting the government through whatever they do would be absurd. In a time where the political climate is so tense, many people are feeling overwhelmed at how to make public life better for everyone. One of the most extreme ways some would suggest would be to simply not follow the rules. The government is not always correct, and the laws they pass are not always just, if we do as a collective feel these rules to be unjust it is not unreasonable to suggest disregarding them in a protest to bring about positive change. This practice is not unheard, especially in times of civil crisis. Many brave citizens of Germany broke the law during the second World War by harboring Jewish people in their homes. This was a full display of civil disobedience at the time, but it was one that was necessary to save innocent lives.

This is not meant as an encouragement to break any and every law you do not like, this is just a reminder to the masses that if we do not like what the government is putting forward we have the right, and the way, to change it.

Here on The American Reality we aim to explore the honesty behind the concept of the American Dream. We want to expose the exclusivity of success in America, and use this truth to inspire the American people to come together as inclusive group accepting of all those willing to accept others.
